Matthieu Boustany, Benoist Desfonds, Elida Mosquera, Jerome Picard met through their shared experience in prestigious international offices around the world. They come together to create LOCAL in 2019 between Bergen and Paris, as a reminder that we all are at once nomadic and sedentary, migrants and locals. Transmission of knowledge and know-how, ageing together, looking to adapt and recompose our existing built environment around new shared values, questioning the changing role of culture and places of work, building with wood, or giving accessibility to sport for all, are some of the questions we ask ourselves. We are local actors in a globalized system where our design practice is trying to bridge the gap between two apparent oppositions.
